Why learning about origins of place names is fascinating

Puthuppady, Kerala 

 -Located near the town of Muvattupuzha, this small village's name is said to mean "new land" because of the words "puthu" which could be derived from the Malayalam words "puthiya" meaning "new" and "pady" which means "land. -(stated by a local source as there is no amount of data on my maternal home-town)

This is an example of how my curiosity is piqued about historical facts like this that make me keen on sewing back the lost fragments of the intricate woven tapestries of the world's story. 

And, as a Minecraft player, I start to think about the world, our world, differently as I start to look at modern settlements and cities awhole lot differently.
Like, SOMEONE made that and SOMEONE DESIGNED that and gave it a name that means something unique or for whatever reason. 

Maybe it was founded by a group of people. Maybe they founded it after being chased away or maybe they migrated from a far-off or nearby land to start a new beginning. 

And, this village in Kerala has a name that means "new land", as stated above, so that gives a whole lot of things to wonder about. Why do they need a new land? Who are the original inhabitants? Where did they originally come from then? 

This is what makes history the best subject, in my humble opinion at least, because it has weaved itself into different fields like science, design, law, sports and even different parts of your life. 

You are part of history. It's story. From you graduating high school or college, or being born or when your friends in Minecraft founded their own island nation?

That's a part of the tapestry. And you're a part of it. And the universe loves you. 

You matter to it. Your whole existence is part of something beautiful. Pay no heed to fools who try to blindfold you from seeing that.
