Greek influence in the Sanchi stupa

 


During my visit to Sanchi in Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh, India), I have noticed that there was a certain building near the structure which oddly looked very "greek" in architecture. 
After enquiring a bit on that structure, I have learnt that there were Greek visitors to the site of  the stupa who were converted to Buddhism and spread their messages as they returned home.
